I work in a Radio-Canada newsroom. They frankly lack the cognitive ability to process complex information and to even ask questions. The newsroom's shared email address is monitored by news editors in Montreal. When a journalist shared a criticism of Chris d'Entremont made by a former member of parliament, he was immediately put in his place by someone in Montreal. When I used this email address to share something to put one of the rights in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms into perspective, I was called into the office and told never to do that again. All week long, I hear someone saying they wish Trump would get a bullet in the head. Recently, a journalist and presenter wanted us to run the story on ostriches because "it’s funny." I have a very diverse professional background, I have a master’s degree,

I studied journalism. And I have never found myself in such an uncurious, biased, and self-satisfied environment. I am writing this today because my manager called me in for a meeting this week without telling me why. I also noticed that he had become more distant towards me. This does not bode well. I have not even been working there for a year. And frankly, it is really difficult to live with when you have a free and nuanced mind. This environment is frankly mediocre, and I can't wait for artificial intelligence to replace it. (written quickly in French and translate by DeepL)
