Another very good column Peter. Perhaps your subscribers should take up a collection and purchase a subscription to The Rewrite for CTV.

So we’ll only see the Spike Lee series in art house theatres?

Also TSN and Sportsnet are terrible at showing Canadian sports leagues to Canadians. Take away their licence!!!

It appears that many MSM reporters have foresaken their industry practise of balanced reporting in favour of reporting their truth. That truth includes residential school murders and anything anti-Pierre Polliviere.

Some writers have said Canada achieved peak woke in 2021. I suggest it is still strong in our media as well ad schools, governments and professional regulators. There is much work to be done to rid Canada of woke's scourge.

Re: anomalies peddled as "unmarked graves"

It's important to remember that in today's media environment, narratives are subbed in for the truth and to confront the narrative (and those pushing the narrative along) gets an old school journalist branded as a "denier". MPs such as Leah Gazan from Winnipeg Centre want to see "denialism" become a punishable crime in the Criminal Code. This is how narratives become entrenched as the truth: shut down debate and make life difficult for those who still believe in fact checking.

The CBC is damaged beyond repair. It delivers racist, biased, lying, hysterical agenda-driven drivel. It is purely a liberal tool to manipulate and consolidate power.

Great article! Been wondering for a few years now, if our journalism educational system is actually filtering for and producing the baseline needed of curiosity, inquiry, queries and reasoning.

The editorial processes of past, seem long gone.

All it takes now is just to whisper possible conspiracy and damage is done. Sadly ethics and morality passed away courtesy of pandemic fear but truth era.

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. Strange isn’t it, that ‘conspiracy’ still seems to work with so many. Even after the ‘conspiracy’ is shown to be a more accurate statement or framework than ‘official’ narratives.

Repeating false Canadian government press releases or Cp/AP biased news stories may not be “ unwitting”. It may be deliberate.

More of those mysterious graves said to have been discovered (but never unearthed, of course) and an independent candidate among 203 others now joining them as a footnote in Canadian political history, despite the hope beyond hope she could actually upend the prospects of the leader of a national party in a no nonsense, strong conservative riding.

Trust, once broken, can be such a challenge to regain - a point apparently missed by some in the legacy media as they continue on anyway in their dogged pursuit of spin.

And they wonder why some many around them don't bother tuning in anymore...

The MSM continues to abandon its duty to reporting factual truth in deference to the wokerati. Asking questions and approaching issues with healthy skepticism has become passé now.

IMHO, the biggest problem (and saddest commentary) on Canada's mainstream media is its complete lack of moral fibre. I have no doubt that more than a few of the hacks that populate its ranks know the truth about what is actually going on in this fair land, but are afraid to admit it.

Poilievre got over 80% and the Liberal candidate got a miniscule amount of the vote under Carney's leadership. In the previous election the Liberal, under Trudeau's leadership also got puny support. Now THAT'S a story.

It seems that ESPN has already afflicted you, Peter. The CFL football season is in full bloom - it’s the NFL football season that is about to blossom.

I didn’t say it wasn’t underway but it really flowers when Acadia plays its first game and the Stamps win the Labour Day Classic
