Firstly, CNN is an entertainment channel. What they peddle isn't journalism; it is a form of entertainment. They have to "spin" stories to maintain their audience, which is primarily composed of Democrats (the political party versions, not actual people who believe in democracy). I know they like to call themselves journalists, but they're not.

Fair enough but then simply for truth in advertising they should surely change one “N” to an “E”, agreed? Hey, even the WWF accepted becoming the WWE. If the truth fits….

Correct. There was a study a few years ago that found Fox viewers had far better command of the facts on all subjects than viewers of cnn or msnbc.

They didn’t include the black hole of knowledge that is the CBC, so we don’t know what is worse.

Journalists should report facts backed by evidence and not get into opinion in a supposedly impartial news report.

Reporters that are writing news pieces & not editorials, might consider working as a security guard for a while.

While this job is usually mundane in nature, it would be helpful to keep reporters grounded.

Security guards are required to write logs & notes. They are NOT PERMITTED to insert their opinions. Their job performance is graded on their ability or inability to do this. When I was writing logs or reports, I was careful & sparse with the use of adjectives. Adjectives often lead to opinions…

Geez. That reminds me of a certain CTV report that “edited” a comment by Pierre Poilievre to reflect something other than what he said…. Canadian “mainstream” media is blatantly biased. It’s a shame. Which is why I read Substack and the Hub or The Epoch Times… or even Instagram.

Trump’s press secretary tore the cnn “reporter” publicly listing Many occasions she has done this on anything Trump related, was something to behold, and no one defended the cnn pipsqueak.

As far as stories based on could and maybe look no further than climate emergency bullshit. Those who can read know we have been declared dead dozens of times in recent years.

Canadians are concerned with all the federal spending, so the Mark Carney Liberal government could produce a budget this year showing the country’s fiscal position. Or it could come next year, or the budget could just balance itself.

There you have it - this qualifies me as a Canadian journalist. Please send me my government subsidy at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your attention to this matter. 😵‍💫
