The “why” is as obvious as the nose on your face.

$$$$.

Endless borrowing to finance the green energy transition net zero nonsense which means buying useless green energy crap from China with billions sticking to fingers in both directions.

As to the ‘why’ of China’s support for the LPC, I would attribute that to China just protecting its investment. As Mark Twain might have put it, the LPC provides the best government that (ChiCom) money can buy. Why would China not support its compradors?

Thx. However it still takes guts and alot of time for these people to dig into things, write up their thoughts and respond to comments. I'm retired and I'm not up to the job.

Yes, but the point he cannot be threatened in the way many can.

I post a lot of stuff on Linkedin and sometimes i get 5-10 likes even though i have thousands of connections, the reality is many working people cannot comment at risk of their jobs.

Thx Pat. I agree with you on that. This holds true regardless of whether you work in for the government or a private company especially now when so many topics fall under the world of Woke. e.g. I worked for an American privately owned technology company in Ontario. I worked with people from all over the world which was great. However a few days after the building management sent out a notice saying people had to stop washing their feet in the washroom sinks as per health guidelines, about 4 adjoining cubicles in my work area had been turned into a feet washing and prayer area. People of other faiths and non-faiths dare not speak up. Our Director position was vacant so we assumed a certain Sr. Manager approved it or ignored it. I say this as someone who once married into the feet washing before praying faith.

I had jobs that I grew to find unethical, both in government (one in Ontario, one in BC). I quit. It doesn't take major courage to do that. Just a bit of an ability to be disgusted and not like it.

Yes, he is retired but the sentiment that there should be more journalists like him still stands.

I believe there are some there, maybe even many but they risk their job by being like Peter. That is my entire point.

Meanwhile, i cannot afford to support all such substacks, adding up already.

I do understand the "adding up" thing. As a retiree, I am finding that my pennies are increasingly pinched so I am cognizant that any paid subscriptions that I undertake - such as this publication of which I am a paid subscriber - must have ongoing value. And, it does.

We will enter dark times if this corrupt, proven incompetent (see England) gets elected. Our equally corrupted, bought-off media will own a big chunk of it. Too bad they will continue to be fed while the rest of the population gets to pay for the feed. Honestly, I'm ashamed to be Canadian on some days.

Trump cries, "Buy American" but HIS CAMPAIGN has been using cheap Chinese labour since 2016. All he does is lie....like all politicians in the fake 2-party paradigm.
